System Dynamics and Stability of Radialelastic Wheels
Project Description
The project involves the investigation on the system dynamics of railway
wheelsets with elastically suspended wheel rims which can be realized,
e.g., by air suspension. The goal of the project is not only the
investigation of the resulting medium frequency behavior of the railway
coach but also the definition of suitable stiffness and damping parameters
for the elastic suspension of the wheel rims. This requires the design of
a flexible multibody model of the railway coach including wheelsets, bogie
frames and the car body.
